New Beauty Room in Bristol

At a time like this when families' budgets are stretched to the limit, it's encouraging to see young businesses venturing out into up-and coming areas in our city. St. George is by no means an affluent area, but evidenced by the heavy sprinkling of new flats, housing, and local, independent businesses, it's an area that's fast evolving into one of Bristol's developing and productive areas.

Kerry's Beauty Room on Church Rd is one such venture. It's a new salon which brings a boost to the thriving main street. It's one of the many reminders that good things do come in small packages. I've had several facials before from well-trained, qualified and apt operatives. Their brisk and effective treatment had always been admirable and appreciated. However, there's something to be said for a natural gift (plus all of the above attributes).

Many people do their jobs very well with the right amount of training, but the ones that stand out are usually those whose natural talents and gifts complement the job they do. My youngest daughter has always had what we call 'healing hands'. When she puts her hands on your face her soft touch makes your eyes close and your pain drift away. It's why she's the one who has always been asked to rub our foreheads when we have headaches or just to give a light back massage. She doesn't know what she's doing, but her healing touch is good enough.

Kerry has 'healing hands', coupled with her training and expertise, have a natural, soothing quality. Her attention to detail is also very reassuring. I suffer from chronic pain in my neck and shoulders (something I didn't reveal to her), so the complimentary neck and shoulder massage made my facial extra special. If I ruled the world, perhaps I'd make a rule that that particular combination came with every facial from here on in:-)

If you're in the area why not drop by Kerry's Beauty Room and see for yourself.

When was the last time you had a facial? Have you had any that was memorable?

I love to read that part about your youngest daughter! She is a blessing!

I haven't step foot in a salon for years, but I would love to have a facial or two.

On the second thought, I would love to have your daughter's healing hands to ease my pain.
