Love Quotes: 2

Love Quotes are quite popular on the Internet, but rather than collect some cheesy love quotes we're all tired of hearing, I like to mix it up a little. I like to keep an eye out for the love quotes people make about relationships when they least think they'll ever be quoted for saying them. In my first love quote article, I gave you some hilarious (and some quotable) love quotes from celebrities. Here I bring you some love quotes from writers. See what some of the prolific wordsters had to say for themselves where love is concerned.

Love quotes: 2

“Love doesn't make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile.”  ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

“Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.~ Robert Frost.

“When you fish for love, bait with your heart and not with your brain.” ~ Mark Twain.

“Love is a great beautifier.” ~ Louisa May Alcott.

“Love sought is good, but given unsought, is better.” ~ William Shakespeare.

“Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.” ~ Zora Neale Hurston.

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.” ~ Williams Shakespeare.

“Love is energy of life.” ~ by Robert Browning.

“The love that lasts the longest is the love that is never returned.” ~ William Somerset Maugham.

“Love: A temporary insanity, curable by marriage. [The Devil's Dictionary]” ~ Ambrose Bierce.

“Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness.” ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes.

“Men always want to be a woman's first love - What (women) like is to be a man's last romance.” ~ Oscar Wilde.

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” ~ Lao-Tzu.

“If two people love each other, there can't be a happy end to it.” ~ Ernest Hemingway.

“There are three things that last: faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.” ~ Bible, I Corinthians 13:13.

Do you have any love quotes you just can't resist using? Which one of these stand out to you? I quite liked the last one. In fact, most of I Corinthians chapter 13 gives us some powerful love quotes and meaning of love. See this page for a host of other love quotes' articles on this blog.

Beautiful indeed!

Love is a many splendid things...just as it's said. And no matter how much we talk about love, there
s so much always left unsaid - isn't it?

Loved all of these wonderful quotes and it gets tough to pick out the best one from these. Each one of them has a deep meaning and are wonderful indeed. :)

Thanks for sharing and reminding all of us about love. :)

Yes, it's difficult to pick out just one, isn't it. I think they all express all the emotions we've felt over time.

Indeed. I thought this was a particularly negative view of love.

That is my favorite Bible verse and I have purchased many copies of it. The kids have 3. I love to collect them on pinterest too. There are many beautiful and profound quotes there, in fact you might find this posted there next time you look. :-)

I love this verse too. It's so profound (and why wouldn't it be). It's the perfect place to go if you want to find love quotes.

Love is energy of life. It really is! We do everything because of love...

You're right there! It's better than doing it for greed - as some people sadly do.
