Best Moving On Songs After Your Relationship Break-Up

Every where you look, your senses are assaulted by stuffed toys, heart-shaped chocolate and couples in love. If you've just endured a break-up this is the last thing you want to see. This is why I've prepared something special just for you.
I've thought long and hard and researched some of the best 'Moving On' songs I've ever heard. So, forget No Doubt and 'Don't Speak.' Forget Sinead O'Connor and 'Nothing Compares To You.' Here's to your 'Get Up and Go!' 'Forget and Move On!' I've pasted a few lines of each song to show why they made my final 5. Here's my count down. (And some extra singles articles for you).

Moving on songs after your relationship break-up

Carly Simon - You’re So Vain

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River

You told me you loved me
Why did you leave me, all alone
Now you tell me you need me
When you call me, on the phone
Girl I refuse, you must have me confused
With some other guy
Your bridges were burned, and now it's your turn
To cry, cry me a river
Cry me a river-er
Cry me a river
Cry me a river-er, yea yea

Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone

But Since U Been Gone
I can breathe for
the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
What I want
Since U Been Gone

Nancy Sinatra - These Boots Are Made For Walking

These boots are made for walking,
And that's just what they'll do
One 'a these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

Download it here: These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

And the best of all:
Gloria Gaynor - I will survive

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as i know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

Download it here: I Will Survive

So, don't stay at home and cry any more. Sing along to these songs and before long you'll be saying, 'Good riddance! Go on and cry me a river! Walk out the door!'
And don't you forget Carole Bayer Sager's 'You're Moving Out Today'. I put this one last because it could be the one you play when they're on their way out.

Cupid: The Secrets He’s Hidden From You

Cupid, in his silly Cupid outfit has hidden a lot secrets from you. All through the years, scores of people have been depending on good old cupid to find them love on Valentine’s Day. What he’s never told you is that he’s merely window dressing. He’s hopeless at matching people up with their ‘perfect date’ (if there’s even such a thing). In fact, Cupid is a downright, big, fat fake. Here’s why.

Cupid goes about completely naked

When he approaches the person you fancy dressed in that outfit, they’re likely to think that you’re a perverted nutter just like he is. You would think that with all the money celebrities make these days, a person as popular as he is could afford to get himself at least a GAP outfit and a decent pair of shoes.

Signs You're Giving 'Old Age' a Good Run For Its Money

I wrote this article a couple of years ago, and just wanted to give it a face-lift and a new lease of life. It's my personal, lighthearted view of youth and growing old.
  • You jump in there and learn new things. You balk at people who say, 'Oh, I'm too old to learn all that stuff now.' You know knowledge is power and power keeps you young and fresh.
  • You move not only your head, but your hips too when you hear your favorite music you listened to in your youth.
  • You switch off the news channel before the news ends because the program you really want to watch (on another channel) is about to start.
  • If you know that you’re going to see your ex (no matter if you’re now in a stable, happy relationship) you make a special effort to show them what they’re missing.
  • You still use words like “cool” even though you think that the younger generation’s grasp on grammar and vocabulary is appalling.
  • You sometimes still get pleasure from picking your nose and looking to see what’s come out of it.
  • You’ve got at least one outfit left in your wardrobe that reassembles something your kids and their friends would wear.
  • You still laugh hysterically at the funny bits when you happen to see the TV shows you watched as a child.
  • The people who call you “the lady” or “the man” are children and teenagers but not quite adults as yet, (or so you tell yourself).
  • Your wrinkles can still be covered by make-up and your baldness - by the long bits of your own hair (which you think no one notices but everyone talks about behind your back).
  • When you take your kids to see children’s films you hush them if they’re noisy just so you could hear all the dialogue.
  • You still rely on the weatherman to tell you that it’s going to rain, rather than the unusual ways in which your own body-aches choose to let you know.
  • You know who Voldemort is (you do, don’t you?).
  • You still remember what you had for breakfast yesterday, and you really don’t have any “good old days” stories.
  • You can bend down and rise up again without passing wind.
  • You clicked on this as soon as you saw it because you desperately hope that you would find even one point out of the sixteenteen to prove you’ve “still got it.”
